Final Fantasy XIV

Final Fantasy XIV

Dancing through chaos with a smile.

A personal log from someone learning the game, getting humbled, improving, and enjoying the fact that Eorzea keeps being larger than my confidence.

Where I am

I started playing Final Fantasy XIV in August 2024, and I am still not caught up. This is not an expert corner. It is a personal log from someone learning the game, getting humbled, improving, and taking notes from inside the mess.

I’m not here to be the best player in the room. I’m here to learn, laugh, wipe politely, and get better.

Shadowbringers spoilerClick to reveal

I am near the end of Shadowbringers, emotionally damaged by the Warrior of Light being sick. The MSQ keeps doing that thing where it looks like fantasy adventure and then casually puts a chair through your chest. Rude. Effective.

Why it stuck

The game stuck because of the community, the aesthetics, the story, and the feeling of being inside a world instead of just clearing a checklist.

I like beautiful places, messy duties, quiet walks, big music, small systems, and the moment when a fight stops looking like weather and starts becoming readable.

Jobs I’m learning

Right now I mostly play Dancer, which feels correct for a person trying to look graceful while the floor becomes a legal threat.

I am also practicing Warrior and White Mage so I can understand fights from more than one angle: responsibility, panic, positioning, cooldowns, recoveries, and the slow work of not treating every mistake like a life-or-death exam.

Things I want to write about

MSQ feelings, jobs, beginner notes, housing dreams, learning roles, making mistakes, improving, roulettes, dungeons, trials, extremes, savage learning, maps, job practice, controller notes, and enjoying the game without pretending mastery is the entry fee.

Open invite, no private details

I like casual players, new players, people doing MSQ, people learning, kind mentors, and anyone who does not make learning weird.

If you want to run content, learn together, invite me to something, or teach me without making it weird, send me a note. I am happy to keep it casual and useful without turning private play details into public breadcrumbs.

I occasionally make small fixes to the FFXIV ConsoleGamesWiki when I notice something useful to clean up.
